Pancake Breakfast Day is saved! Being a Vermonter, the inability to have maple syrup on the keto diet has been a crushing blow. In my mind there is no substitute for maple syrup.

But... then I found this natural maple syrup alternative by Lakanto and my pancake breakfasts were saved. It has the look and feel of maple syrup and a sweet, maple flavor. Is it exactly like maple syrup? No, that's near impossible. But it is close enough that I pour it all over my pancakes and devour them, and if I run out I'm really upset.

Keto Maple Flavored Syrup

WHY I RECOMMEND THIS

As I said above, not being able to have maple syrup on the keto diet was a crushing blow. Then I found this maple flavored syrup by Lakanto which saved my pancake breakfast day. I won't make pancakes without it.

I love that it is derived from a natural alternative to sugar. The monkfruit, or luo han guo, was discovered in China over 1,000 years ago by the Luo Han monks. It was believed to be the secret to longevity, named "the immortals fruit". Here it is mixed with erythritol to create a maple syrup alternative with 1 gram of net carbs per serving.

WHY I RECOMMEND THIS

As I said above, I had some reservations about switching to sugar alternatives. In the beginning of my Keto journey I went without sweeteners for a while and just did without the taste of sweet. But little by little I started branching out in my cooking and eating and experimenting with baking and learning how to alter recipes to make them Keto-friendly... enter Lakanto's Monkfruit Sweetener. Out of all the sweeteners that I have tried this is what has become my personal choice for a white sugar replacement. I use it in almost all recipes calling for white sugar and have it in my coffee every morning.

I love that it is a natural alternative to sugar. The monkfruit, or luo han guo, was discovered in China over 1,000 years ago by the Luo Han monks. It was believed to be the secret to longevity, named "the immortals fruit". Lakanto's monkfruit sweetener looks like, measures like, and acts just like sugar. The best part? It has no calories and no carbs! I sometimes wonder how much healthier everyone would be if they switched to this instead of sugar.

WHY I RECOMMEND THIS

I use this sugar replacement in virtually everything that calls for white sugar. There are some instances where other replacements may act better, ice cream and frozen recipes for example. But for a go-to everyday white sugar this wins for me.
